Igbadiwei Emerges INC President

High Chief MacDonald Igbadiwei has been elected President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) following the conclusion of its election.

The Electoral Committee of the INC declared the results of the election held at Ijaw House on Monday, with delegates from various zones participating in the process.

According to the final figures released, Igbadiwei secured a decisive victory with a total of 317 votes, defeating other contenders in the race.

Other candidates scored as follows: Prof. Franklin Osaisai polled 162 votes, Engr. Ebipamowei Wodu got 53 votes, Chief T.K. Ogoriba secured 11 votes, Chief Nengi James recorded 4 votes, while Rear Admiral Woyenidikpete Geoffrey Yenga garnered 1 vote.

The election process, which attracted stakeholders and observers, was conducted under the supervision of the electoral committee, with efforts made to ensure transparency and credibility.

His emergence is expected to usher in a new phase of leadership, with many expressing optimism about unity, strong representation, and progressive advancement of the Ijaw Nation.
