The City Boy Movement has taken a significant step in strengthening its grassroots influence with the inauguration of its Bayelsa State Executive Council and the unveiling of its State Secretariat in Yenagoa.
The well-attended ceremony drew party faithful, key stakeholders, and supporters from across the state, reflecting the growing acceptance and momentum of the movement.

Governor Douye Diri, represented by High Chief Collins Cocodia, Special Adviser on Political Matters, commended members for their dedication and achievements. He described the City Boy Movement as a formidable and enduring force, noting that the government is impressed with the level of support the group continues to mobilise for both the party and the President.

He assured members that their efforts would be recognised and encouraged sustained grassroots engagement, particularly through door-to-door mobilisation.

Also speaking at the event, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), expressed appreciation for the movement’s contributions and pledged continued support. He urged Bayelsans to remain committed, encouraging them to aim for a strong electoral performance by delivering up to 95 percent of votes for the President in the 2027 elections.
In a remark, the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Mr. Oluwatosin Shoga, highlighted the organisation’s evolution into a vibrant platform that empowers young people by giving them a voice and leadership opportunities. He called on more Nigerians to join the movement, stressing the need to prepare the younger generation for a brighter future.

In his address, High Chief Blackson Osomkime noted that the movement plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between government and the people by effectively communicating policies and programmes. He expressed gratitude to Governor Douye Diri, the Patron of the movement, for his continuous support.
The newly inaugurated State Executive Council has been tasked with driving the vision and objectives of the movement across Bayelsa State.

A major highlight of the event was the unveiling of the State Secretariat, which will serve as the administrative hub for coordinating the movement’s activities and further strengthening its presence within the state.
