The Amananaowei of Agoro Community in Sagbama Local Government Area, His Royal Highness Mark Deinkoru Ekiyou (Ogbotoro VI), has congratulated the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Peter Pereotubo Akpe, on the occasion of his recent milestones.
The monarch, on behalf of the Council of Chiefs, the Community Development Committee (CDC), women and youth leaders, elders, and the entire people of Agoro, commended Dr. Akpe on his appointment as Deputy Governor, describing it as well-deserved.
In a statement made available to journalists in Yenagoa, the traditional ruler expressed confidence in the Deputy Governor’s capacity, noting that he is well qualified for the responsibilities of the office.
He also commended the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, for appointing a person of proven character and competence as Deputy Governor.
The royal father further felicitated with Dr. Akpe on his 55th birthday anniversary, praying for good health, strength, and many more years of service to humanity.
While expressing optimism in the Diri-Akpe administration, the monarch said he believes more communities in the state will benefit from road construction, electricity, and other infrastructural development within the tenure of the current government.
He, however, used the opportunity to appeal to the state government to award the contract for the construction of the 5-kilometre road linking Bulou-Orua Overside to Agoro Community, a project he said has been repeatedly awarded and abandoned over the years.
According to him, the road project was first awarded in 1986 but has remained uncompleted for about four decades.
The traditional ruler expressed hope that the promise made by Governor Douye Diri during his second-term campaign visit to Agoro Community would be fulfilled.
He concluded by offering royal blessings to the state leadership and reaffirmed the community’s loyalty and support to the government.
