UCC Chairman Celebrates Award-Winning Members

The Chairman of the United Correspondents Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council, Prince Amgbare Ekaunkumo, has commended two members of the chapel for their outstanding achievements at the Seventh Edition of the Bayelsa Media Network Awards held in 2025.

The event, which took place on December 26, 2025, at the Ernest Ikoli Press Centre, Ekeki, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, witnessed the presentation of awards to the recipients.

Speaking at a reception organised in honour of the duo at the Chapel Secretariat in Ekeki, Yenagoa, Amgbare thanked God and congratulated Mr. Chris Mark of Ebony Herald Newspaper, who emerged as Best Reporter (Print), and Grey Daukoru of Plus TV, who won the Best Health Reporter of the Year award.

He praised them for their well-deserved recognition, highlighting their inclusive and impactful reporting on societal issues, which has contributed significantly to public awareness and development.

The UCC Chairman also expressed gratitude to the organisers of the Bayelsa Media Network Awards for finding the chapel members worthy of the recognition.

He described the awards as a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the recipients and urged other members to emulate their commitment to the ethics of the journalism profession.

The chairman further encouraged the award recipients to keep the flag flying and continue working hard to attract more laurels to the chapel.
