Elders and youth groups in Brass Constituency II, Bayelsa State, have urged Engr. Seiyefa Felix Ben-Basuo to run for the State House of Assembly seat in 2027.
The call comes amid growing political activities in the state ahead of the general elections, as stakeholders intensify consultations. The elders and youths emphasized the need for quality representation, effective service delivery, and sustainable human capacity development in the constituency.

Engr. Ben-Basuo, who currently serves as the Youth President of Okpoama Kingdom, is said to have demonstrated inclusive leadership and measurable progress within the community.
The endorsement, according to them, is based on performance rather than sentiment, given the developmental challenges facing the constituency, including infrastructure deficits, youth unemployment, and limited access to social services.
His tenure has been described as exemplary, with particular reference to his commitment to youth empowerment and grassroots engagement, which has reportedly fostered unity and increased participation among young people in community affairs.
He was further described as dedicated, accountable, and transparent, with a leadership style that reflects responsiveness to community needs.
The elders and youths noted that effective representation in the State House of Assembly requires a clear understanding of local realities, adding that Engr. Ben-Basuo possesses the capacity to articulate the interests of the constituency at the legislative level. They also called on political stakeholders, traditional rulers, youths, and community members to give serious consideration to his candidacy.
While Engr. Seiyefa FelixBen-Basuo has yet to publicly declare his intention to contest, the growing endorsement signals increasing grassroots support.
