The Nigerian Senate has officially unsealed Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s office in the Senate wing of the National Assembly and restored her access to the NASS complex.
The development comes after her six-month suspension, which ended in September 2025. During the suspension, she was barred from entering her offices, attending plenary sessions, or participating in Senate activities.
The decision to reopen her office, located at Office 205 in the Senate wing, was reached during a Senate leadership meeting held on September 22, 2025. This move is seen as a prelude to her full return when the Senate resumes plenary on October 7, 2025.
As part of the resolution, Senator Natasha is expected to tender an apology to the Senate following a motion that will be moved by the Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro. Once that process is completed, the Senate will consider lifting all remaining restrictions to allow her resume her legislative duties fully.
Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court had earlier ruled that the suspension was excessive and unconstitutional, stressing that it deprived her constituents of representation in the upper chamber.
