Ogboinbiri Federated Youths Accuse President of Misconduct, Reaffirm Commitment to Peace

Some executive members of the Ogboinbiri Federated Youths have accused the Youth President, Mr. Experience Pere, of violating the community’s constitution and taking actions capable of threatening peace in the area.

The youth leaders alleged that Mr. Pere ignored the provisions of the Ogboinbiri constitution, which bars the youth body from appointing the community taskforce, and went ahead to unilaterally constitute one.

Their position was contained in a statement signed by the Vice President, Comr. Job Tarilayefa Alpheaus; Secretary General, Comr. Ikeinka Wariayibapre Genesis; Assistant Secretary, Comr. Timi Moses; and Treasurer, Comr. Pere Ayiba-Esin Nicole.

They claimed that some of the persons appointed by the Youth President have questionable records, including alleged involvement in cultism and drug-related offences. One of such individuals, according to them, was recently arrested by the police and transferred to Yenagoa for investigation over suspected illicit drug activities.

The youth leaders commended the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri; Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo; and the Southern Ijaw Local Government Chairman, Hon. Target Segibo, for their efforts in managing the situation and promoting peace in the area.

Reaffirming their commitment to peace and unity, they pledged to continue supporting every lawful effort aimed at restoring calm and progress in Ogboinbiri.

They also condemned any form of insult or ridicule directed at established local authorities, urging all youths and stakeholders to work together for the development of the community.

“Ogboinbiri must be better,” the statement concluded.
