Another Dangote Truck Set Ablaze by Angry Mob After Fatal Accident in Auchi, Edo State
A Dangote truck was set on fire by an irate mob after it ran over and killed a commercial motorcyclist and a passenger in Auchi, Edo State. The incident occurred on Friday along the Auchi-Benin Road.
According to reports, the truck driver narrowly escaped death as the mob torched the vehicle in retaliation.
The Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the tragedy, stating, “The Dangote truck veered off its lane, colliding with the motorcyclist and the passenger in the opposite lane, resulting in their deaths.”
He further added that the matter is under investigation by the Dangote Plant Police.
Offering condolences to the families of the deceased, Akinbiyi disclosed that one of the bodies was taken to the Auchi General Hospital morgue, while the other victim’s family has since buried their loved one.
