Thanksgiving holds deep significance for Christians, as it is a heartfelt expression of gratitude to God for life, protection, provision, and his faithfulness.
Observed towards the end of the year, thanksgiving serves as a time for reflection, renewed faith, and communal worship marked by prayers, hymns, songs, testimonies, and generous giving.

In Dominion City Bayelsa, the atmosphere was one of appreciation as the church held a statewide thanksgiving service on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the Lady Diama Event Centre, Osiri, where worshippers from all chapters came together to give thanks to God. The event was characterised by an atmosphere of praise, worship, and hymns, celebrating God’s faithfulness throughout the year.
In his sermon, the Senior Pastor of Dominion City Bayelsa, Pastor Tony Imafidon, described thanksgiving as a joyful response to the mercy and goodness of God over one’s life. He explained that it is a grateful reaction to God’s activeness in the lives of believers and an act that generates trust in God, which guarantees His continual release of blessings. Reading from several scriptures including Psalms 50, 22:3, 68:3–4, 107:22, 69:30; 1 Chronicles 16:28–36; Hosea 14:1–3; Hebrews 13:15; Matthew 6:21; and Proverbs 3:9–10, the cleric emphasized that true appreciation must be accompanied by giving, noting that thanksgiving should end with one’s treasure.

The service featured special thanksgiving processions from all Dominion City Bayelsa chapters, including Akenfa, Azikoro, Otuoke, Ekeki, Imiringi, Mbiama, Edepie, Obunagha, Sandfield, Tantua, Opolo, Amassoma Headquarters and other departments.
A powerful choir ministration by DC Angels Bayelsa, led by Pastor Wisdom Usiaka, further lifted the congregation in praise.

Also ministering during the service were Pastor Chidi Okonkwo, Pastor Tovie Elliot, and Pastor Prince Benjamin, who blessed the congregation through various Bible passages and made strong prophetic declarations.
