President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Bayelsa State Government led by Governor Douye Diri for executing landmark infrastructure projects in the state.
He gave the commendation at a stakeholders’ meeting in Yenagoa shortly after commissioning major projects in the state on Friday.

The projects include a 60-megawatt gas-fired power plant, the 630-metre Angiama–Oporoma Bridge, the dualised New Yenagoa City road linking the airport, and the Sagbama–Ekeremor road. The President also virtually commissioned the Bayelsa West senatorial road network.
Tinubu said Bayelsa people deserved to see governance translated into physical development and improved quality of life.
“We are all working hard. Independent power supply is a good thing”.
He urged the governor to implement more people-oriented projects and pledged continued Federal Government support to the state.
Governor Diri, in his remark commended the President for the visit, describing him as a friend of the Bayelsa people.
He said the administration’s policy interventions had enabled the state to deliver reliable independent power through gas-powered turbines, noting that the projects were a cause for thanksgiving and celebration.

The visit attracted several dignitaries, including former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, governor’s including Umo Eno, Sheriff Oborevwori, and Hope Uzodinma among others.
