Bayelsa Health Commissioner Inspects Ongoing Healthcare Projects

The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Seiyefa Brisibe, has led an inspection team to several ongoing healthcare projects as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s health sector.

The inspection tour covered facilities including the Ikarama Cottage Hospital, the ICT Centre at the College of Nursing Sciences in Tombia-Ekpetiama, and other project sites across the state.

Prof. Brisibe described the level of work observed as encouraging, noting that the progress achieved so far reinforces the Ministry’s determination to expand service coverage, improve quality and accelerate reforms that place citizens at the centre of healthcare delivery.

He explained that the engagements further affirm the Ministry’s strategic direction in prioritising preventive care, strengthening primary healthcare, improving referral systems and promoting equity to ensure no community is left behind, particularly in emergency situations.

The Commissioner assured that, with continued collaboration from partners and community stakeholders, the government remains committed to building a resilient, responsive and inclusive health system capable of safeguarding lives and supporting sustainable development.
