Investigative journalist Dr. Kemi Olunloyo has described Guinness World Record-breaking chef Hilda Bassey as “a true local champion.”
According to Dr. Olunloyo, Hilda achieved global recognition without seeking international exposure, despite earlier advice. “Hilda won Guinness World Records and didn’t go to America like I advised her to get an O visa. Anyway, there was a good reason. Make I no talk. I will not eat out of that pot,” she said.
She raised concerns about the sanitation process of the massive Gino pot used during the cook-a-thon. “The same crane that lifted that Gino pot should have used a giant hose to wash it. Instead, Hilda was standing in the pot while washing it,” Olunloyo alleged.
Dr. Olunloyo further added: “Anyway, hope she wasn’t doing her menstruation again this time or else you will now taste her human Gino mix.”
Her remarks have since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with some defending Hilda as a trailblazer while others echoed concerns about hygiene during the event.
